living words
create worlds
"The poet knows it sooner than the people do. The people usually know it after the poet is dead; but that's all right. The point is to get your work done, and your work is to change the world." ~ James Baldwin
What sort of world do you long to live in? To give birth to? Humans are designed for connection and community. What better way to invest in these things than through one’s writing?
WRITE: generative gatherings (Zoom, retreats, in-person workshops, etc)
REVISE: 1:1 consultations to hone your craft, revise a body of work, or explore which avenue of sharing/connecting suits your project best
PUBLISH: build a home for your words to live outside of yourself
These a-la-carte, one-hour consultations are for dreaming, planning, and executing. I utilize tools and practices that have grown from my own creative processes: building a mood board, social media mapping, constructing a framework for a body of work, poetry as a life practice, the intricacies and finer details of self publication, both digital and physical.
If you are wondering how to begin sharing your work, finding a community (not just an audience) through your work, or unsure of where or how your writing might like to live in the world, these sessions are for you.
The secret poems, essays, fragments & photos all serve a purpose - to help you build and fortify meaningful relationships. Let’s identify those you long to connect with, the sort of cadence and candor you want that connection to embody. Whether you have a defined vision or simply want a bit of guidance on how to get started sharing your work, I’m your gal. Digital or physical, social media or a printed book, it’s all within my wheelhouse.
one-hour session - $85

“Kat's talk was just what I needed to hear--be gentle with one's self and process. And, to hear how one transforms one's notebooks and post-its and photos into a project was so inspiring . . . hearing Kat narrate her process and project planted some seeds of confidence in me.”
Kim Flyr, poet
“Designing with Kat… was soulful and honestly fun. I had zero intention of publishing this when I began, and that makes me even more pleased that I followed this project along to the finish. She was a joy to work with, and really helped me to finish this project. It means even more to me that it was such a collaborative process.”
